Kiato is the capital of the municipality of Sikyon, located 22 kilometers from Corinth, has a population of about 10,000 residents and occupies most of the coastal section of the municipality is crossed by rivers, Cyril  and Elissona. It consists of the town and three villages, Neapoli (West), Tragana (south) and Agio Ioannis (east). 
It is a beautiful seaside, transit, commercial and resort surrounded by a fertile area, mainly cultivated with vineyards, apricot, orange, lemon and other fruit trees. 
It is popular because it's exactly midway Athens - Patras and is the transportation hub for the mountainous of Corinthia, where you can find beautiful landscapes. 
The port of Kiato is used mainly for trading purposes and serves mainly the exports of agricultural products and imports of raw materials for crafts in the region. 
From the last quarter of the 19th century until the World War II, becaue of the cultivation, processing and export of Corinthian raisins, the city experienced an economic, commercial and cultural prosperity and increased its population. 
The city has all the basic public services, offices and Secondary Education, Court, Health Centre, fishing resort, six kindergartens, seven elementary, three secondary schools and three high schools, Public Library, Cultural Center, football, athletics, tennis,gymnasium, etc. 
The modern highway and suburban rail, allowing the visitor to be in the city of Kiato in one hour from Athens. For staying there are hotels and apartments.
