Velina is a local village of the municipality of Sikyon, located 23 km Kiato south at an altitude of about 930 meters to the northeast of Mount Ziria at the edge of a forest of black pine, which extends to Klimenti. It has a population of about 250 residents, who mainly deal with agriculture and animal husbandry. The climate of Velina classified as excellent, so there is intense activity in building country houses.
The central church, Saint Demetrios has remarkable carved iconostasis and icons of the early 19th century.
The residents of Velinas took part in the race in 1821, mainly led by Notaraious.
